Welcome to Őrség Disc Golf Open 2020

Welcome to the 2020 edition of the Őrség Disc Golf Open!! We are super happy that this tournament can take place even in such a crazy year. This is a PDGA C-tier event, limited at 72 players, and unfortunately this year this is not part of the 3PT Tour. Please find here all the important info you may need!

 

 

Dates / Schedule

July 24 all day: course is available for practice

July 24, afternoon: you can start arriving to the accomodation/camping after 12:00

July 25, tournament day #1: we play two rounds of 18 holes, with a lunch break in between, lunch will be served at the course. Players' meeting is 08:30, we start round#1 at

July 25, evening, around 18:30: dinner at the camping, "GULYÁS LEVES" cooked on an open fire for all the players

July 26, tournament day #2: regular round#3 to start at 09:00, then lunch break, then the Final9 holes (number will be decided later)

The Course

The course at Őrség Open is a temporary one. It is located on an mixture of agricultural land and forest in a picturesque hilly environment, meaning you will see both large wide fairways and tight wooded holes, with some elevation changes and many-many OB lines 🙂 The course par is 61, and according to the 2019 results, shooting par would have given you a rating of 950-960.

The course does not have any sanitary facilities (i.e. no toilets).

Accomodation

Accomodation - as always - will be provided to players by the "Fazekasnő Vendégház és Kemping", a handcrafted pottery workshop and a camping. The camping has two types of accomodation: (1) you can stay in wooden houses with common/shared bathrooms and facilities for 4500 HUF / 14 EUR per night , (2) or you can stay in your own tent/camping bus in the camping for 2250 HUF / 7 EUR per night in case of camping, and 3000 HUF / 9 EUR per camping bus per night.

It is a very cozy camping area, where all of us can stay at the same place.

The price of the accomodation is payable directly to the Owner, latest until Saturday evening. The accomidation can be paid both in EUR and HUF.

 

Food

For those who ordered, breakfast will be served from 07:00 every morning in the Bognár Étterem, a restaurant roughly 500m from the camping.

For those who ordered, lunch will be brought to the course in lunch break. It will be two sandwiches with some vegetables inside.

We will have plenty of water brought to the course for players to drink during the rounds.

 

Tournament fee

Őrség Open is a tournament that has relatively high fixed costs, as we need to bring a whole infrastructure there. This means that the tournament needs to have at least 50 players in order to pay for all the costs. Unfortunately 2020 is a crazy year, and for a long time we have not even been sure that we could organise Őrség Open, but even now, are most realistic expectations are that we will not have more than 30-40 players. This means, that we had to apply a rather new tournament fee format:

• Tournament fee is HUF 9.000,- (only payable in HUF, equals to roughly 26 EUR), but in case we have more than 30 players, then we will be able to give money back to the players !
• Food (breakfast+lunch) price is 4.000,- HUF / day (only payable in HUF)

Covid'19 Info

We are closely monitoring all local health authority advices/restrictions/requirements, and will be informing you about what sort of measures we need to take. We will bring hand disinfection liquids to the course, plus a lot of wet towels, and will try to do all our best to make you feel comfortable.
